The maintenance procedure for an electric lawnmower primarily encompasses the upkeep of the blade, the housing, and the machine as a whole. Blade maintenance involves periodically inspecting its connection to the drive shaft and avoiding impacts; when sharpening the blade, one must follow the direction of rotation to ensure the cutting edges on both sides are balanced. Prior to installation, lubricant should be applied to the rotating connection points to prevent corrosion; furthermore, if the machine is to remain unused for an extended period, the blade surface should be cleaned and coated with lubricant to inhibit rust.

Maintenance of the machine housing requires cleaning both its interior and exterior surfaces after every use to prevent the accumulation of debris-such as grass clippings, leaves, and soil-thereby avoiding rust caused by a lack of timely inspection.

Routine maintenance for the complete unit includes daily cleaning (or every three hours in harsh environmental conditions); frequently wiping down the exterior with a cloth or brush to ensure cleanliness; periodically applying lubricant to the pull-rod pivot points to prevent rust; and daily removing weeds, debris, and dust from the protective guards to prevent motor overheating or damage caused by over-speeding. Finally, when the machine is not in use for an extended period, it should be thoroughly cleaned and stored in a dry, well-ventilated location.
